Symposium Overview
This triennial symposium will address approaches used to characterize and/or monitor Chamaecyparis thyoides or Atlantic white cedar, ecosystem hydrology, soils, biogeochemical cycling, nutrient fluxes, plant physiological ecology, biodiversity, genetics, pathology, wildlife biology, threatened and endangered species, fisheries and aquatic resources, silvicultural techniques, paleoecology, bird conservation, taxonomy, culture practices in nurseries and the field, regional issues, and ecological conservation/integrity at the local and landscape scale.
Special themes for the 2012 symposium are cultivation and establishment of Atlantic White-Cedar biodiversity of AWC ecosystems.

Who Should Attend?
This tri-annual symposium brings together scientists, resource managers, non-governmental organizations, regulators, consultants, educators, students, traditional- and non-traditional forest products industry.
Conference Accreditation
This symposium will be accredited for Continuing Forestry Education credits from the Society of American Foresters in Category 1-CF. Full symposium participation usually offers up to 13 contact hours. |
