FORESTRY AND ENVIRONMENTAL OUTREACH PROGRAM

FEOP Distance Education
General Information
Forestry & Environmental
Outreach Program (FEOP) and Extension Forestry
offer distance education and training events designed
to inform landowners and natural resources professionals on a wide array of topics. Some of these events are accessible by personal computer as Internet seminars or "webinars". Others are broadcast to various locations, such as community colleges and Extension centers, through the NC Research and Extension Network (NC-REN). When grant funding provides financial support for these events, they can be offered at little or no charge. When subsidies are not available a small registration fee is charged. Each
distance learning event will be accredited with SAF Continuing Forestry Education
contact hours and possibly other types of accreditation depending on the topic. Continuing education certificates are sent to participants after our office reviews the sign-in sheets from teleconference locations, or log-in records from webinars. When possible, certificates are emailed to participants as PDF attachments. FEOP distance education events are archived! CLICK HERE
Forestry Issues Series Teleconferences
This Forestry Issues Forum is offered in teleconference
format via the NC Research and Education Network (NC-REN)
a two-way, interactive medium. This format allows attendees
the opportunity to interact with the experts and as well
as other participants from across the state. These programs are generally 3 hours in length and give participants the advantage of a forum atmosphere at each location*. Links on the FEOP "past programs" web page make possible for attendees to review the teleconference content information after the program is completed. Advanced registration and $35 fee are required.
Registration fee increases to $50 one week from the broadcast date (late fee). Use the links below to complete a registration form. CLICK HERE to see a list of teleconference locations but note that not all locations are available for every broadcast.
* Please allow extra time for obtaining
necessary parking permit, locating visitor parking
and the video teleconference site on the campus of
your choice. All video teleconference sites are nonsmoking!
We will provide reasonable accommodation for persons
with special needs when requested in advance of the
workshop.
