About the 35th COFE Meeting in 2012 The purpose of the 2012 Council on Forest Engineering (COFE) meeting is to advance new engineering solutions for energy supply and demand. COFE is an international professional organization interested in matters relating to forest engineering. The 2012 meeting will feature an early arrivers welcome reception, plenary sessions with keynote speaker, moderated concurrent sessions organized by timely topics, a full day field tour, a reception and dinner with special speaker, and special spouse/companion program that will immerse conference guest in the history and culture of the Crystal Coast region of North Carolina. Researchers and working professionals are encouraged to share their knowledge through oral and poster presentations. Abstracts are to be submitted for planning committee member review by March 31, 2012. Presenters are expected to register for the meeting, and prepare a full formatted paper for inclusion in the post-meeting proceedings. Annual Meeting Planning Committee
About COFE The objectives of COFE are to foster the development of forest engineering in industry, government, and in university teaching, research, and extension programs to promote the best methods of managing and operating forests; to serve the forestry profession on matters of policy in the area of forest engineering; and to disseminate technical information on forest engineering subjects. COFE encourages the exchange of information and technologies relating to forest engineering through their annual meeting and publication of proceedings as well as through other regional activities.
